The Carousel News & Trader Magazine
 |
| A Brief History The Carousel News & Trader was started in 1985 by the late Nancy Loucks as an expression of her love for carousels and her vision of the need for an independent source for carousel news and interaction among carousel enthusiasts all over the world. The first issue was an eight page black & white newsletter that was distributed free to introduce people to the concept. It grew slowly at first, but when it became a color publication it really took off. By the early 1990s there were thousands of readers all over the world. After Nancy passed away, her husband, Walt, continued to run the magazine. After 21 years, it was time for Walt to retire. In June of 2006, Walt sold the magazine to The Carousel Store. Under the new ownership, there are now again 12 monthly issues each year including the special Carvers Issue in March and the Buyers Guide in April. The magazine continues to be the best print source for all aspects of carousel related news and information and now offers its readers 48-plus pages each month, all in brilliant full-color. The publication, as always, welcomes stories and input from its readers as well as leads on carousel happenings of any kind. At only $35 per year, the Carousel News & Trader is a must read for any carousel enthusiast and it also makes a great gift. Two-year subscriptions are an even better bargain at $65. Canadian (and Mexican) subscriptions are only $55 per year (US funds). Foreign subscriptions are $95 per year (US funds) and ship via airmail. |
